Where Should You Look to Move in the Carolinas?

If you are planning a move to North or South Carolina, you have probably given a lot of thought to the location in general. The Carolinas are known for their lovely weather, and plenty of people are making the move to those two states, so it is clearly a good option for a move.

However, you may have not begun your research on a specific city yet. There are so many great options for cities in both states that there will be no shortage of choices on your list. As you plan your move to the Carolinas, consider these cities as possibilities for your future hometown:

Chapel Hill, North Carolina

Chapel Hill is part of the Research Triangle in the Piedmont Region of North Carolina. The “Triangle” area is known for its research community, and it is also becoming known as a tech hub and for its strong economy. There is also a strong job market in the area with salaries higher than surrounding areas, so this is certainly a good city to consider for a move from a financial perspective.

Chapel Hill is also known as a good place to raise a family. There are plenty of parks and gardens to enjoy the outdoors, as well as a strong system of public transportation. Chapel Hill is also home to the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and has a strong focus on education.

Hickory, North Carolina

Hickory, North Carolina is located near the Blue Ridge Mountains and is also known as a good town to move to and a good place to raise a family. It also has some amazing housing prices, especially since it is so close to the mountains. It is a small town, so if you are looking for more of a small-town feel with community vibes, Hickory is the town for you.

There is plenty of undeveloped land in Hickory if you like the idea of living rurally, but there is also plenty to do. If you are a racing fan, Hickory Motor Speedway is located in this town. Hickory Motor Speedway is where NASCAR drivers like Dale Earnhardt and Rickard Petty learned their trade. If you like the idea of a smaller town, you should definitely put Hickory on your list.

Columbia, South Carolina

Columbia is the capital of South Carolina and is also considered a great place to live, as it gives its residents a good mix of urban and suburban living. The University of South Carolina is located in Columbia, and contributes to the strong football and tailgating culture of the city.

Besides football, Columbia is also home to the Riverbanks Zoo and Garden, as well as the Columbia Museum of Art. If you like the idea of living in a big city with a suburban feel, there are plenty of Columbia houses for sale.
