In modern day everyone is trying desperately to be a social media star. The part where many people fall short is the entrepreneurial spirit that they must possess in order to build a career. Tory Waligroski is a social media entrepreneur who has taken the resources given to him and created a successful career out of them. It was not too long ago that he was inspired to join the growing amount of content creators on Vine and youtube. Tory Waligroski took his chances on this venture in 2015 when he moved from his birthplace in Daytona Beach, Florida to Los Angeles. This was a very scary and intimidating move since tory was doing this without any following and without any security of a career or potential success. Tory began his vine career with simple and entertaining videos for his audience to enjoy and soon found great success by building off of that.
He maintained his personal account but he saw an opportunity to use his audience as a way to support his other accounts instead of limiting his following to only one account. Tory became very skilled at catering to his audience and at the height of his Vine career he had nearly a million followers on his personal page and about 9 million combined followers on his other pages. His fanbase quickly grew and his following had continued even after the fall of vine. Despite Vine ceasing to exist Tory has continued in social media and currently caters to the niche market of cannabis enthusiasts.
Since Facebook does not allow for cannabis content or paid ads to be published Tory took this as an opportunity to create very popular cannabis pages so that his audience has a free space to post and advertise their cannabis content. This venture has been very lucrative and over the years he has been able to sell many of the pages that he has created but the two that he has kept are @weed and @baked. These pages are popular amongst the cannabis community with one having 869k followers and the other having 131k. Although these pages are just platforms to indulge in cannabis pages Tory has built off of it and through his innovative attitude he has been able to amass an audience that he continues to build off of. He also owns the page @fuckboy which he uses to provide comedy entertainment to a wider audience and to date the page has over 280k followers.
It is pretty clear that Tory is a social media influencer but it seems more so that he is an entrepreneur who uses social media as a tool to grow an audience. With his persevering attitude and creative ability he was able to enter a completely new space and dominate it in no time. Even after losing the platform, Tory did not let that discourage him and instead took note of an industry that was neglected in order to build and profit off of it. It has been a long road for Tory and with the massive amount of content that he has created through his personal accounts and entertainment accounts as well as brief youtube career he is now in a very good position. The social media space is a very intimidating and competitive space but considering how much he has been able to create in the brief five years since he moved and started his career there is no doubt that he would be able to take his current following and continue building it. Tory has been subtle about his plans for the future but I look forward to what he has in store and for the content that is to come.
